What is the Digital Health Development Programme?

With conventional health services becoming stretched to their limits, being underfunded and understaffed, the digital health market is booming. It is helping to fill the gaps in health services and move the point of care to the patient, rather than the doctor.

That is exactly why the University of Bristol has launched the Digital Health Development Programme. It will give students the chance to learn about the field of digital health and develop skills that can be used to address problems in healthcare.

The programme will take place in three modules:

  1. Introduction to digital health care and project management
  2. Use and development of healthcare apps
  3. Data analysis and visualisation

The curriculum looks like a great start to my journey in digital health and I am looking forward to seeing where it takes me!

Why did I choose to do this?

  • After doing some previous research using electronic health records, I began to understand the importance of digital health and how I actually quite enjoyed data analysis!
  • It is a great opportunity to delve deeper into the field and learn some valuable skills that I can use in future research or employment.

I will be using this blog to document my progress throughout the programme, so feel free to follow along with me!
